With a Solio solar charger, you can recharge the battery of your Suunto X9i or X9Mi GPS watch (and other handheld electronic devices) with just the rays of the sun. This solar charger eliminates the need to lug along a heavy 12v battery and a rigged charger for your GPS watch while you're away from your vehicle or base camp for extended periods.
Since the purpose of a Suunto GPS watch is to immerse yourself in the great outdoors, confident that your watch will guide you home, the Solio Solar Charger has the potetential to make every adventure last longer.
How does the Solio Solar Hybrid Charger work?
The Solio solar charger for handheld devices is a durable and ergonomic device that unfolds to reveal three separate solar panels. The panels gather the suns energy and store it in the Solio's internal battery. You can then use this energy to power your Suunto X9i oe X9Mi GPS watch or your other handheld devices. To get a head start, you can charge to Solio's battery through a wall outlet.
The Solio Universal solar charger uses interchangeable power tips that enable it to charge different handheld electronic devices. One hour of direct sunlight will store enough power in the Solio's battery for an hour of iPod play or 30 minutes of talk time on most mobile phones.

Works as advertised. It's physicaly larger than it appears in the adverts, but it performs well. In my "minds eye" I was expecting a piece a little larger than a pack of gum. The unit is actualy about the size of an adult hand, or a large computer mouse.
